Chemical Peels

Chemical Peels in North York, Toronto.

Chemical peels might sounds intimidating, but today they are one of the most popular cosmetic procedures in the spas and doctors offices. Chemical peels are actually not chemicals like it sounds, they are derived from natural sources, (sugar cane, milk, grapes and apples, willow bark tree, etc.).

Chemical peel, also known as a derma-peeling, it’s a technique that uses a chemical solution to improve and smooth the texture of the facial skin by removing its damaged outer layer that consists of dead cells.

Chemical peels are a great way to promote the growth of new cells and make your skin smooth and younger-looking.

There are four different types of chemical peels that are used at Skin Care Toronto:

Alphahydroxy acids (AHAs) or superficial peels, such as Glycolic, Lactic, Salicylic and Fruit Acids are the mildest of the peel formulas and produce light peels.

These types of peels are quick and without any recovery time. Often called Lunch hour peel, they provide smoother, brighter-looking skin in no time. They are best if you don’t have the time to recover from TCA peel or you just want to even your complexion.

AHA peels may be used to treat fine facial lines, areas of dryness, uneven pigmentation, large pores, oily skin and acne. Available in different concentrations, AHA may be applied weekly or at longer intervals to obtain the best result.

Lactic acid will satisfy all the need of sensitive skin issues. An alphahydroxy acid, such as glycolic acid, also available as a cleansing gel, to help to dissolve the keratin build up of dead cells as well it can be mixed with a cream to improve the skin's texture and condition.
